Approach to Education
The goal for secondary school students is to ensure that students have access to information, learn to learn, gain thinking skills, and acquire strong communication competencies. We also work towards raising productive individuals who can improve their life skills, think from different perspectives, are curious, inquire, research, read, have a good command of their mother tongue, have acquired a foreign language, follow technological and scientific developments, know their individual and social responsibilities, have an entrepreneurial spirit, and are productive individuals. To this end, we implement techniques, methods, and programs that are scientific, current, proven, and designed according to international standards.
We work towards helping students reach the top of their capabilities. Our objective is to ensure that students express themselves on national and international platforms in cognitive, mental, and social fields and have a universal perspective. To achieve this goal, we implement a structured curriculum following the principles of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the general objectives of the Turkish National Education System without compromising ethical principles and academic standards.
21st Century Skills and Holistic Development Academies
Through the academy stations that we have built to gain 21st-century thinking skills and capabilities based on current and scientific approaches, we prepare our students for both national and international exams and life.
Under the roof of our academies and through timeless, transferable, universal, and broad concepts, all developmental areas of children are covered and we provide them with guidance and experiences that make a difference in their journey of education.
Foreign Language Education
The “Foreign Language Education Program”, prepared considering age development, cognitive development, and readiness level of children, has been structured based on the CEFR (Common European Framework) criteria of the European Common Language Framework standards. Thanks to this program, we ensure that students acquire academic and social gains both in the mother tongue and in the target language naturally, free from memorization, by doing and experiencing in experimental and communicative learning environments.
Our students start their secondary school education with intensive foreign language education. English is taught as the first foreign language and German as the second foreign language. The curriculum designed according to the needs of our students aims to complete foreign language acquisition in the shortest and most permanent way. To transfer the principle of lifelong learning to our children, it is important for us that they become individuals who inquire, research, blend their ideas with what they have just acquired, and produce a new product. For this purpose, we aim to raise our students as individuals who learn by experiencing. To achieve the target, in addition to the curriculum followed, we implement J-MUN, Destination Imagination, Debate League, European Union, and Erasmus projects.
We aim for our students to reach the level of B1 in English and A2 in German by the end of the 8th grade according to international standards. We support students to take the KET (A2 Key for Schools) and PET (B1 Preliminary for Schools) exams organized by Cambridge Assessment English for students who learn English as a second language worldwide, and the curriculum that we offer fully meets the exam requirements.
Transition to High School (LGS) Preparatory Program
- LGS preparation studies start in the 5th grade and intensify in the 7th grade.
- We determine the readiness level of our students through effective testing and assessment tools according to fields and courses. We analyze the results obtained with our academic staff, guidance counseling unit, subject teachers, and advisor teachers. In this way, we prepare a detailed analysis report and individual support program for our students considering all development areas.
- We take care of the individual and academic differences of each of our students individually and start the 8th grade LGS curriculum studies as of the 7th grade.
- Our advisor teachers monitor all processes, special question banks are prepared according to student needs and provide feedback on achievements.
- The processes are further reinforced through intensive studies, mock exams, testing and assessment reports about the exam content, gains, and question types focused on during the school week and weekends.
- We aim for the full acquisition of academic skills and achievements through one-on-one lectures, subject make-ups, and an intensive program to solve questions.
- We attach importance to announcing test results on the day of the exam and solving questions together.
- We regularly share our analyses on question types and provide our students and parents with updates on the exam.
- We organize seminars for parents and students to share detailed information about the exam process and carry out motivation activities with our Guidance Counseling Unit and subject teachers.
- Our Testing and Assessment Unit monitors students’ academic performance through comprehensive analyses such as exam results, score ranking, exam details, topic gains, item by item analysis, exam comparison, subject exam average score, and exam score range reports.
We use the STEAM model, which is one of the important approaches that support student development in our secondary schools. In this model, our students study the math-based Steam-Math courses in English. Focusing on observing, researching, and finding solutions through Steam-Math, students develop creative thinking skills and learn to control their own power and means. They develop risk-taking skills and begin to make quick and effective decisions. They begin to use their personal experiences in the learning process more through multidimensional thinking.
Science-Team, a science-based course, is taught in English in our schools. This course develops children's skills of discovery and invention and imagination, their creativity and productivity increase and they gain an aesthetic sensitivity. They develop problem-solving skills and learn to conduct research.
Ecology and Natural Life
According to scientists, there is a strong connection between our mental, physical and spiritual health and our relationship with nature. From this point of view, we know that our children need contact with nature as much as they need healthy nutrition and adequate sleep.
We provide our students with a love of nature and animals through the ecology lessons that we include in our secondary school curriculum; we teach natural life, proper and balanced nutrition, and being sensitive to the environment and our world.
Through the areas we have created in line with the physical means of our schools, we aim to raise awareness about the methods used in agriculture and agricultural technologies by introducing sustainable and renewable energy resources and different production techniques.
“Community Involvement Program” (J- CIP)
Abbreviated as CIP, our Community Involvement Program aims to raise awareness about social responsibility through theory and practice. Our students, who do at least 10 hours of social service work during their secondary school education on our campuses, gain a significant advantage in line with educational goals and project work. The projects of our students who document their works and present them as portfolios are assessed by the school and relevant non-governmental organization.
Established according to the results of democratic elections, the MBA Schools Student Senate includes all students in the decision-making processes of the schools through its commissions. Giving our students the opportunity to manage their projects and the ability to express themselves correctly, this organization also acts as a bridge between students and units such as school administration and Parent-Teacher Association.
Talent and Skills Workshops
Clubs offered at the secondary school allow students to come together for a common purpose and produce through science, art, and sports workshops.
In this way, we aim to support academic success and increase students’ motivation at school. We attach importance to specializing in one field in music and aim for each of our students to learn playing at least one instrument.

The Guidance Counseling Units at our campuses act as a bridge for cooperation between the school and the family. The activities carried out by the unit aim to raise students as fully equipped, sensitive, self-aware, conscious, healthy, happy, and strong individuals for society.
Communication, Monitoring and Guidance
Constant communication with parents is very important for us. Information about student progress is shared with parents on a daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis as determined. This communication is reinforced through regular meetings and individual meetings held by form teachers and guidance counselors. By establishing a strong communication bridge between the family and the school, we monitor the achievements of students and share information with parents under the leadership of our guidance counseling unit.
Breakfast and lunch lists are prepared taking into account developmental characteristics of children and under the guidance of a professional nutritionist. The objective is to help children develop healthy nutrition and eating habits by experiencing them personally.
Healthcare services at our schools are provided by the Healthcare Cabinet of Medicana, the leading healthcare organization of the private healthcare sector, of which we are an affiliate. School nurses work 24/7 offering healthcare services also at weekends. We meticulously check children’s health forms collected at the beginning of the year and monitor the special circumstances of children in need. In case of any health problems, we inform parents after the first intervention. We do not give any medication or take the child to any healthcare institutions without the consent of parents.
*Parents who are members of the MBA Schools Community are entitled to a discount at Medicana Hospitals.
Service Buses and Security
Parents who wish to do so can make use of the services of school buses with hostesses on board. Children pickup and drop-off processes are monitored meticulously. Parents of children who do not come to school until the specified hour are given a call to get relevant information.
Our school is our safe space with our security units and camera control systems available 24/7. Children cannot leave school premises without their parents. We do not hand over children to anybody without the consent of their parents.
