So Mindfulness, which is recognized all over the world, forms the basis of our coun- seling approach. What is Mindfulness? Mindfulness is to watch and be aware of the events without judging or reacting, but by accepting them as they are, with empathy and atten- tion. Contrary to the assumptions, it is not immortalizing the moment, but it is about gaining mindfulness about the emotions and thoughts like what is going on and how we feel. What are the benefits? Mindfulness helps children as much as it helps adults to overcome anxieties and stress in addition to the comfort and peace it brings. Regular mindfulness exercises are very beneficial in concentration of the children. It helps hyperactive, stressed and distracted children to unwind and relax. It helps children in taking self-control, being aware of their emotions and for their management skills. Cleansing the mind from busy, tiring and complex thoughts is an efficient way to help the children regain their creative potential. These exercises facilitate for children to get into a peaceful state of mind, to prepare for challenging processes, to strengthen their immune system, to enhance their sportive performance and many other subjects. Scientific studies have shown that the mindfulness training supports learning, emotional intelligence and overall happiness. Mindfulness exercises Our students make mindfulness exercises under the supervision of counseling instructors for 1 hour a week. The exercises we choose are mindfulness activities prepared for the age-group level of the students. We make mindfulness exercises centered on breathing, body, 5 senses, emotions, thoughts and social life. We might explain their benefits as follows: Breathing : We can balance our stress level, scale of anger, anxiety. Body : We may increase self-awareness, relax muscles and transition to a relaxed mode, as well as facilitate relaxing in active conditions. 5 senses : We can learn to see, eat, hear/listen, smell and touch with care. Emotions : We can enable increase in emotional awareness, knowing the emotions and expressing the emotions. Thoughts : We can ensure increase in acknowledging / being aware of our thoughts.
